Oh, the places you'll go!

 I posted a little peek at this piece a few days ago. It was a gift for a friend of mine who is having a baby very soon. The nursery has kind of a travel theme to it so I thought a Dr. Seuss quote would be lovely for the little one.

About a month back, I also designed an invitation for my cousin's fiance's bridal shower. She had the shower yesterday so I can post the invite now! That will probably make an appearance on here sometime early this week. Once I make an attempt to tackle cleaning the art bubble and my room...che palle...

oh sweet vino

We've been making a bit of progress on the wine label for Pace wines I mentioned a week or so back. It's had some setbacks and ideas keep changing but I think it's almost done.

The 70's typeface one has been vetoed since we can't legally use "twenty ten" as the year on the label. And it would be too difficult to change the varietal every year...it's a shame but I really love how it turned out.

I also need to wrap it up within the next couple of days before I start my road trip to Austin, Texas! This will be my first trip back to Texas since I graduated 2 years ago (and fled to Italy)... I'm so excited to get back to Austin, especially since my visit coincides with the music festival, SXSW. Which Jovanotti, my favorite Italian singer, will be performing at...che fortuna!

Currently with the labels, we have a bunch of different ideas that we're playing with...one of which gives me an excuse to play with some wine...

I've been painting with wine today to make these cute little succulent plant patterns to use as a background behind the text for a version of the wine label. Such fun! And it's such a lovely color to work with.

I haven't played/painted with wine in quite some time, not since my little Vino book  I made in Italy. But I really love the result of it...and so far I'm loving the combination of text on top of it.

These are some other label ideas I've been playing around with. Which idea do you like best?

Lately....

Busy busy busy lately! Lots of projects and new things happening....a really big one is brewing over the weekend that I'll be able to post next week...So excited!!!!!!

After a long hiatus on my part, Livi & Grace is back on the table too! Updates one those little lovely girlies are coming soon. And I have a bunch of tattoo designs in the making right now too. AND a skateboard deck design. Lots happening...

But! In the meantime, here's a look at what's on the drafting table today. I'm re-working my friend's family wine label, Pace Family Wine. It's my first real design project and I'm loving it so far. We have it narrowed down to 5 ideas, including this one. (but so far this one is my favorite!) It's a pretty wide array of ideas that we've come up with, everything from plain text, figure silhouettes to this 70's typeface collage. I'll be adding the color to this one today so we shall see how it goes....
