as of late...

It's not even summer yet and I can already tell it's going to be another doozy. Last summer was notoriously crazy. I worked 8 solid weeks, 7 days a week between three different jobs and a bunch of random side gigs. Words cannot describe the exhaustion and the relief I felt at the end of those gnarly 8 weeks.

Although I won't be doing a complete repeat of that horrific schedule, I will have two jobs! I'll be teaching swim lessons and art workshops again this summer... of course with a bunch of random gigs in between. One of the side gigs will be summer markets! I have my first one on May 11 and I'm eyeing a couple more, but more on that another time...

I recently got a Behance account. It's a great site to share your portfolios on, check out other peoples projects and maybe find some gigs. I'm still figuring it out but it gave me some incentive to finally make some decent photographs of my older Europe sketchbook. That sketchbook has some of my favorite memories, including that Eiffel Tower one above. I worked in that sketchbook for nearly 2 years and never filled it...but somehow I filled Terzo in 6 weeks, go figure... I have that whole sketchbook on Behance (as well as Terzo) and I'm slowly updating my own site with those photos.

In shop news, I can add a couple colors to my inventory! Red and deep purple cards! I'm so torn as to which color I love more now...white, turquoise, red or purple. I love how the eggplant purple is so dark it's almost black. It may not look purple but trust me it is, I have the purple stained hands from cleaning everything to prove it!

In other projects, I recently finished making a website for my little sister's soul band. A bunch of tweens/pre-teens playing Otis Redding and James Brown? They're pretty damn cute, and good! You can check out the Soul Mates site if you'd like to take a listen.

For you lovely ladies that decided to participate in the Craft it Forward, I'll be sending you an email soon asking for your addresses! I just gotta finish up a one more thing then your crafts will be en-route to you! This weekend I received my lovely gift from Bhrett at Lost in Relocation, I love having it hang in my little art bubble!

  1. So your little sister may be the coolest tween out there... along with her bandmates of course. I love the peace sign dream catcher.

    1. I love it too! Check out her Etsy shop, she has some great things! Side jobs are a fantastic way of life...albeit a crazy way of life, but they still pay the bills (and make for some entertaining stories afterwards!)
